The first annual New York City Poetry Festival took place on Governers Island on the weekend of July 30th.  The two-day celebration featured performances by over 100 poets from all over the country, vendors selling local crafts and organic food. Pro AV Rentals provided 3 separate stages for the two-day event, each with its own complete sound system.  We also brought in one of our professional sound engineers to ensure that everything ran smoothly.  And it goes without saying, that that is precisely what happened!

It's true, President Obama is back on the campaign trail.  And when he visited New York City on April 27th to begin fundraising for his new campaign, one of the highlights of his evening was the "Campaign Inaugural Gala Dinner" held at the Waldorf-Astoria’s Starlight Room.  The event was lively and exciting and Pro AV Rentals is proud to have provided the stage (literally!) for such an important moment in history.  

May 14th was a very busy day for all of our departments.  Aside from our usual DJ Equipment, Lighting, and Pro Audio rentals, our stage department was equally as busy preparing for a children's choir event, a couple of award ceremonies, and a dance competition.  But the most interesting of all the rentals for this day were the (5) Mandap platform requests we received for different events spread out in NY, NJ, and PA.

Pro AV Rentals provided audio visual equipment for a special worship service at Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ) in Forest Hills, NY on April 17th.  The special mass was held in 2 outdoor tents seating 1,200 members of the congregation.  It was a visually moving event, with the sermon of the visiting minister from the Philippines broadcast live to twelve 60" Plasma / LCD TVs and a coinciding sound system, all rented from and set up by Pro AV Rentals.

On Saturday, February 26, celebrities, elected officials, musicians and women’s health leaders joined thousands of New Yorkers in Foley Square to rally and stand up for women’s health.  Pro AV Rentals was there providing a full PA / sound system for the Planned Parenthood event.

On February 19th, the stars of the Nickelodeon series Big Time Rush made an appearance at the Westfield Sunrise Shopping Mall to kickoff the launch of their new album, BTR.  Pro AV Rentals provided staging for the event and it turned out to be a very exciting autograph signing. But who was expecting anything less?

On January 14th, we provided DJ rental equipment to one of the newest entertainment hotspots in Pennsylvania... Building 24: Kitchen & Bar. Set in a renovated turn-of-the-century factory, the venue features upscale cuisine, 5 multiple bars, an outdoor dining area, an excellent selection of microbrews and incredible nightlife.
